Don’t miss this opportunity to make a meaningful impact and connect with like-minded individuals. We can’t wait to welcome you to our SAGEr community!

Regarding general volunteering, there are many ways a volunteer can celebrate their time with our elders. This includes socializing over dinner service, assisting as a cyber lounge volunteer, fighting food insecurity by helping distribute pantry bags, and lastly, celebrating alongside our members through service at parties, holidays, and special events. We go over examples of volunteer opportunities during our volunteer orientation. We also share information on our wonderful programs and SAGE Centers (older adult spaces in Chelsea, Harlem, Bronx, and Brooklyn). SAGEr volunteers also uplift special programs at SAGE that support specific parts of its wonderful LGBTQIA+ family, namely SAGE Positive (HIV+ individuals, aged 50+), SAGE Vets (Veterans, aged 50+), and SAGE Trans (transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming adults aged 50+).

Volunteering takes place mostly in SAGE Centers in NYC: Edie Windsor SAGE Center (Manhattan), SAGE Center Brooklyn at Stonewall House, SAGE Center Harlem, SAGE Center Bronx at Crotona Pride House.
