Support the Underground Well Project in Kalule — Clean Water for 500+ People
Details
Description
Project Overview:
Front Aid Foundation, with generous support from Tools for Life Foundation, has successfully constructed an underground water well in Kalule, Uganda. This well provides safe, reliable water to over 500 community members, including women and children who previously walked long distances to fetch water.
At the Kalule Children Shelter, the water is used for cooking, washing, bathing, and irrigating plants in our urban farm, while excess water is shared with the surrounding community. This project has significantly reduced water scarcity, improved hygiene, and freed up time for children to attend school.
We extend our gratitude to Jonas and Tristan from Germany, whose connection to Tools for Life Foundation made this project possible.
Volunteer Opportunities:
While the well is complete, there are still ways volunteers can help:
- Community education on safe water usage and hygiene
- Maintenance and monitoring of the well
- Supporting the children shelter with water-related projects and urban farm activities
- Assisting FAF with reporting and outreach to showcase the project’s impact
Skills Needed:
Community engagement, basic project support, education, sustainability awareness, teamwork
Impact:
Volunteers will help sustain a life-changing water project, support children and families, and strengthen community development efforts in Kalule.
