    About Us

Justice for Children is a Houston-based nonprofit dedicated to protecting children from abuse and ensuring their families have access to critical legal and support services. Many of the families we serve are in crisis, with limited financial means and urgent needs. Your help will directly support our mission.

    Position Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic and resourceful Fundraising Volunteers to partner with us in generating vital support for our work in Harris County and surrounding areas. Volunteers will help develop, manage, and execute fundraising strategies—both existing initiatives and new creative ideas—to sustain and expand our capacity to serve vulnerable children and families.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify and research fundraising opportunities (grants, corporate sponsors, individual donors, community events).
    • Assist with planning, organizing, and promoting fundraising campaigns and events.
    • Generate new, creative fundraising ideas and help bring them to life.
    • Follow up with prospective donors, sponsors, and community partners.
    • Help with outreach materials, donor communications, and tracking campaign progress.

    Time Commitment

    • Flexible, ongoing involvement based on your availability.
    • Recurring engagement is preferred to maintain continuity and momentum.

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Passion for children’s welfare, social justice, or nonprofit work.
    • Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
    • Comfortable with basic computer tasks, email outreach, and document preparation.
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

    Requirements

    • Must reside in Texas.
    • Must pass a background check.
    • Valid driver’s license preferred.
    • Attend a volunteer orientation.

    Impact & Benefits

    • Play a critical role in ensuring families in crisis receive the legal, emotional, and safety supports they need.
    • Opportunity to develop fundraising experience, mentorship, and hands-on skills in nonprofit development.
    • Option for academic credit where applicable.
