About Chelsea Film Festival
Chelsea Film Festival is an international film festival and year-round arts and culture organization supporting independent filmmakers, emerging artists, and bold storytelling from around the world.
Our ecosystem extends beyond the annual festival through industry programming, mentorship, networking, education, and our Incubator for emerging talent.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a creative and motivated Volunteer Press Coordinator to support Chelsea Film Festival’s communications and media outreach leading up to and during our 14th Annual Festival, October 14–18, 2026.
You will work closely with our team to help amplify our films, filmmakers, events, and programming through press, newsletters, and digital communications.
Responsibilities
- Draft and distribute press releases and media alerts
- Coordinate and manage media outreach and press relationships
- Develop and coordinate the festival newsletter
- Support interviews, press requests, screenings, and media coverage
- Assist with social media content and promotional campaigns
- Maintain media contact lists and track outreach
- Support live press and social media coverage during festival events
- Collaborate with our artistic, marketing, and production teams
Who We’re Looking For
- Passionate about film, arts, culture, and storytelling
- Strong writer and communicator
- Creative, organized, proactive, and digitally savvy
- Interested in PR, media relations, journalism, social media, or entertainment
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines
- Experience with press outreach, newsletters, or social media is a plus

Commitment
Availability during business hours in the weeks leading up to the festival, with the ability to be on-site and available throughout the festival, including evenings and weekends, October 14–18, 2026.
