We are seeking a compassionate Friendly Visitor Volunteer to provide one‑on‑one companionship for an older adult living at an adult care home in Happy Valley.

About the Participant

The participant is living with Alzheimer’s disease but is able to engage meaningfully in conversation and life review. They have a rich and fascinating life story and enjoy opportunities to connect socially.

Interests & Background

• • Born and raised in England
  • Volunteered internationally with the Voluntary Service Overseas (similar to the Peace Corps)
  • Loves the outdoors and gardening
  • Enjoy classical music
  • Played the piano
  • I have an interest in photography

Volunteer Role

• • Provide friendly conversation and companionship
  • Engage in life review, storytelling, and shared interests
  • Help reduce social isolation and promote emotional well‑being

Schedule & Commitment

• • In‑person visits
  • Flexible scheduling coordinated with care home staff
  • Priority placement due to high need for social connection
