    NAAAP New York is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, AAPI professional organization that promotes the career advancement and leadership development of Asian American professionals in all fields through professional development, community service, and social events. We are the founding chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP), with a history dating back to 1982.

    About the Role

    This director ensures strong branding, storytelling, and visibility for NAAAP NY across digital channels and events. You will be reporting directly to VP of Communications.

    Key Responsibilities

    Marketing Strategy & Brand Management (45%)

    • Develop and maintain a cohesive marketing strategy across all committees.
    • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across platforms.
    • Oversee content calendars and campaign pipelines.

    Communications & Digital Media (25%)

    • Craft newsletters, press releases, and organizational announcements.
    • Manage social media presence and coordinate design assets.
    • Analyze engagement metrics and optimize content.

    Committee Support & Collaboration (30%)

    • Work closely with programming, WIN, Pride, Membership, and Volunteer teams.
    • Provide guidance for campaigns, events, and partnerships.

    Qualifications

    • Experience in marketing, communications, content creation, or social media management.
    • Strong writing and storytelling skills.
    • Familiarity with Canva, digital tools, or analytics platforms is a plus.
    • Ability to balance strategy and execution in a volunteer environment.
    • Strong written communication abilities.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a volunteer-driven environment.
    • Previous nonprofit or board experience is a plus.
    • Adept at working in a diverse and multicultural environment.
    • Previous experience in a leadership or management role is a plus.

    Time Commitment:

    • Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 12 months, actively participating in the planning and execution of Marketing and Communications tasks.
