    Description

Volunteer Board Member for Animal Rescue Non-Profit

Applicants must live near or within driving distance of Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

Are you an animal lover who wants to make a real impact in the lives of abandoned, abused, and neglected pets? Have you been searching for a meaningful way to help animals heal, find safety, and eventually join loving forever families? If so, you may be exactly who we’re looking for.

My name is Cindy Yee King, and I’m the founder of the Grace Animal Rehab Center (GARC) — a small but dedicated nonprofit serving the Sapulpa, Oklahoma area. Since 2017, we’ve been rescuing and rehabilitating cats and dogs in need and placing them into caring homes. Our work is hands‑on, heartfelt, and deeply rooted in our mission to give every animal a chance at a better life.

We are now seeking Volunteer Board Members who want to help guide our organization’s growth and strengthen our impact.

    What You’ll Do

    • Assist in developing policies and procedures that support GARC’s mission and long‑term goals
    • Serve as a community ambassador by sharing our mission and values with the public
    • Participate in fundraising, marketing, public relations, legal guidance, or accounting — depending on your skills
    • Attend bi‑annual or as‑needed board meetings (remote or in‑person)
    • Support GARC in meeting commitments to the public, donors, and the animals we serve

If you’re local, we would also love your help at fundraising events and, when possible, hands‑on support with our animals.

    How This Role Benefits GARC

Your leadership directly strengthens GARC’s ability to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need. As a Board Member, you help GARC:

    • Expand our reach by connecting us with new supporters, partners, and community resources
    • Improve organizational stability through strong policies, oversight, and strategic planning
    • Increase fundraising success, allowing us to provide medical care, supplies, transportation, and safe housing for more animals
    • Build public trust by ensuring transparency, accountability, and ethical decision‑making
    • Grow our programs, from rescue and rehabilitation to community education and spay/neuter assistance
    • Protect our mission long‑term, ensuring GARC continues saving lives for years to come

Your guidance helps us keep our promises to the public, our donors, and — most importantly — the animals who depend on us.

    Who We’re Looking For

Skills in communications, writing, PR, graphic design, accounting, law, animal care, or training are especially valuable — but a passion for animal welfare is the most important qualification.

    Time Commitment

Board members typically contribute 10–15 hours per month, though additional involvement is always welcome.
