    Event Extraordinaire Volunteer

Assist LMBO staff at one of our many community events, such as helping with planting model gardens, Tree and Plant Giveaways, World Migratory Bird Day Plant Sale.

    Community Event Volunteer Needs

    Native Tree Giveaway – Saturday, April 25th 9:00AM – 12:00PM

W.J. Niederkorn Library - Port Washington, WI

Join us in celebrating Earth Day (4/22) and Arbor Day (4/24) by helping staff hand out saplings of native tree species to community members to plant in their own yards to benefit birds and native pollinator species that rely on these species as hosts. We are excited to offer Oaks and NEW species this year!

Word Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) & Native Plant Sale – Saturday, May 30th 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Upper Lake Park Picnic Area #6 – Port Washington, WI

Join us in celebrating! World Migratory Bird Day’s (WMBD) mission is to connect people to the phenomenon of bird migrations through on-the-ground events, programs, and festivals. We celebrate by hosting our native plant sale to encourage community members to increase native plants in their yards and build pocket habitats that benefit birds, pollinators and can improve water quality. Volunteers can sign up for shifts and duties, which could include but are not limited to plant sale setup, assisting customers with selecting the right native plant for their needs, cashier, breakdown and leading a kids nature craft activity, recruiting, and promoting our mission and volunteer opportunities.
