Focus: Navigating the administrative applications and portal submissions to get HHP formally recognized by commercial and government health plans.

Human Health Project (HHP) is a global health literacy charity dedicated to empowering individuals through peer-led information sharing and health education. As we prepare to launch a critical new service initiative, we are seeking a detail-oriented Volunteer Provider Enrollment Specialist to help us bridge the gap between our services and health insurance payers.

The Role:

In this role, you will be the administrative driving force behind getting HHP enrolled with targeted health plans and government payers (including Medi-Cal/Medicare where applicable). This is a crucial function to ensure our programs are recognized within payer networks, allowing us to scale our impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, submit, and track complex enrollment applications for organizational and provider entry into payer networks.
• Utilize online portals (such as CAQH, PECOS, and state-specific Medicaid/Medi-Cal portals) to maintain accurate organizational profiles.
• Act as the primary point of contact for insurance payer representatives to resolve application discrepancies or follow-up requests.
• Maintain meticulous records of submission dates, tracking numbers, and approval timelines.

Qualifications:

• 1–2+ years of experience in healthcare provider enrollment, medical billing billing infrastructure, or insurance operations.
• Familiarity with standard payer enrollment portals and state/federal regulatory guidelines.
• Exceptional organizational skills and a persistent approach to tracking administrative workflows.
• Commitment of 5–10 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months.
