    Description

    *We are looking for a driver to deliver a meal box in the Windsor area, either from our Fort Collins office or from the Loveland Chilson Senior Center.

    Title: Delivery Driver

    Need:

    To support the homebound older adults most in need, in their ability to maintain healthy independence through the home delivery of nutritionally balanced meals.

    Deliverables:

    Each volunteer will assist with the weekly home delivery of frozen nutritionally balanced meals and monthly nutrition education materials.

    Outcome:

    Seniors will be able to remain living independently in their homes due to nutritional support.

    Key Responsibilities & Work Environment:

    Including but not limited to -

    • Office
      • Timely arrival for delivery route
      • Record volunteer hours
      • Confirm delivery pick-up
      • Communication with office staff
    • Delivery
      • Client Confidentiality
      • Timely Delivery in your own vehicle
      • Proper Food Safety (frozen meals)
      • Client Conversation/Check-up
      • Communication with office staff regarding clients

    Qualifications:

    • Friendly and caring personality.
    • Ability to walk a short distance and carry 10 lbs.
    • Good communication and listening skills.
    • Successful completion of a background check, Motor Vehicle check, application, and interview.
    • Availability between 11:00 and 1:00.
    • Ability to adjust to changes in procedures and delivery routes.
    • Confidence driving in various weather conditions.
    • Normal physical mobility and strength to handle carrying boxes between office, vehicle, and client homes, dexterity of hands and fingers, coordination.

    Training and Support:

    Each volunteer will complete an in office training with Nutrition staff, and be assigned a specific, recurring delivery route. The Nutrition staff will be available for support weekly. Additional training will be provided on an on-going basis over the course of each year.

    Time Commitment:

    • One delivery route on the same scheduled day each week.
    • Minimum commitment of 6 months
    • * We will work to accommodate individual volunteer schedules
