    Description

The Mind Initiative (TMI) is a rapidly growing youth-led organization working at the intersection of mental health, public health, neuroscience, education, and advocacy. Our mission is to build innovative, accessible, and scalable solutions that improve mental health awareness, education, and community wellbeing for young people worldwide.

We are currently accepting applications for our Core Team, a selective group of highly motivated students and emerging professionals who want to contribute meaningful work within a fast-moving mission-driven organization. Unlike traditional volunteer opportunities, Core Team members work directly on ambitious long-term initiatives and take ownership over projects with measurable impact.

Opportunities are available across multiple departments, including:

    • Research & Resource Development
    • Public Health Education & Community Engagement
    • Partnerships & Organizational Outreach
    • Fundraising & Development
    • Marketing, Communications, and Content Strategy
    • Graphic Design, Creative Media, and Digital Content
    • Event Planning, Workshops, and Program Development

We are looking for individuals who:

    • Take initiative and work independently
    • Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, or analytical ability
    • Are passionate about mental health, psychology, neuroscience, medicine, public health, education, policy, or social impact
    • Want to contribute beyond traditional volunteering and help build meaningful long-term projects
    • Thrive in collaborative, ambitious, and fast-paced environments

    What you’ll gain:

    • Hands-on experience contributing to real-world public health and mental health initiatives
    • Leadership and project ownership opportunities within a growing international organization
    • Experience working alongside a highly motivated interdisciplinary team
    • Portfolio-building experience in research, strategy, communications, outreach, design, and nonprofit development
    • The opportunity to help shape the future of youth-led mental health innovation

We are seeking thoughtful, driven individuals who care deeply about impact and are excited by the challenge of building something meaningful from the ground up.

    Instructions:

Thank you for your interest in joining The Mind Initiative.

As a growing organization, we are intentionally building a selective Core Team of thoughtful, driven individuals who are genuinely excited about contributing meaningful work toward mental health advocacy, research, education, and impact-driven initiatives.

Please keep the following in mind while completing your application:

Response Guidelines: For short-answer questions, please aim for 150–300 words per response minimum unless otherwise specified

We value specificity, depth, and genuine reflection over generic or surface-level answers

Whenever possible, reference real experiences, projects, leadership roles, research, initiatives, or moments that reflect who you are and how you think

Most importantly, we want to hear your voice.

You are welcome to use tools for grammar checking or organizing thoughts, but because our selection process is competitive, applications that appear heavily AI-generated, overly polished in an unnatural way, generic, or lacking authentic personal reflection are considered a significant red flag during review.

We are not simply looking for volunteers, we are looking for individuals who demonstrate initiative, intellectual curiosity, commitment, and a genuine desire to help build meaningful long-term impact.

Please take your time and answer thoughtfully. We care far more about authenticity and depth than perfect wording.

We appreciate the effort you put into applying and look forward to learning more about you.
