Description
KAIA Network is seeking a talented Web Designer to lead the redesign of our website with a focus on improving user experience and functionality. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on how our members interact with our platform—redesigning the member portal and logged-in experience to be more intuitive, engaging, and functional.
Key Responsibilities
- Website Redesign: Lead the overall visual and structural redesign of KAIA Network's website with modern design principles and best practices
- User Experience (UX) Optimization: Conduct user research and usability testing to identify pain points; redesign pages to improve navigation, accessibility, and overall user satisfaction
- Member Portal Redesign: Redesign the member dashboard and logged-in experience, including:
- Streamlined navigation and information architecture
- Enhanced visual hierarchy and layout for key member features
- Integration of feedback from current members
- Design Documentation: Create wireframes, mockups, and design specifications for development handoff
- Collaboration: Work closely with KAIA Network leadership to understand organizational goals and member needs; communicate design decisions and rationale
- Accessibility & Responsiveness: Ensure designs are responsive, accessible (WCAG compliant), and optimized for desktop and mobile users
- Stakeholder Feedback: Gather input from staff and members throughout the design process; iterate based on feedback
Ideal Candidate
- Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating UX/UI design experience, ideally including dashboard or member portal examples
- Understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
- Experience with information architecture and wireframing
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards
- Ability to gather and synthesize user feedback
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Self-motivated and able to manage a project independently
- Passion for improving digital experiences
Technical Considerations
- Familiarity with modern web design trends and responsive design
- Understanding of design systems and component-based design
- Basic knowledge of web development is a plus (HTML/CSS familiarity helpful for developer handoff)
- Experience with user testing or analytics tools is beneficial
