Volunteer Cashier - Habitat ReStore

Help create a welcoming experience for our community while supporting Habitat's mission- Join us as a Volunteer Cashier at the Habitat Restore!

Habitat ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, building materials and appliances at a fraction of the retail price.

Volunteer cashiers are needed to:

• Greet and interact with customers
• Operate a register
• Utilize the store paging system

Shifts are available Tuesday mornings (9am-1pm), Wednesday mornings, and occasional Saturday mornings.

We are asking for a commitment of 1 shift/week - or every other week - for at least 3 months. Training will be provided in the form of shadowing another cashier and/or staff member, at least once, up to as many times as wanted before feeling comfortable to cashier independently.

Requirements:

• Ability to stand for the majority of a 4-hour shift (with periodic breaks and a chair available at the register)
• Good customer service skills
• Willingness to learn

We will schedule an initial training shift to be sure it's a good fit. If interested, or for more information, contact Julie at volunteer@habitatdane.org or 608-620-4922.
