Do you enjoy spending time with older adults and sharing simple activities or conversation? We are seeking a patient and compassionate volunteer to visit an older adult who enjoys staying active and appreciates meaningful social interaction.
About the Individual:
- Former skilled trades professional with a lifelong appreciation for hands-on work
- Loves dogs and enjoys animal companionship
- Benefits from a calm, patient communication style
- Enjoys spending time with others and engaging in shared activities
What You'll Do:
- Provide friendly companionship through regular visits
- Engage in simple conversation and social connection
- Take walks or participate in light activities when appropriate
- Share time with a friendly dog, if you have a suitable pet and program approval allows
- Offer encouragement, presence, and companionship
Ideal Volunteer:
- Patient and a good listener
- Comfortable allowing extra time for communication and responses
- Enjoys interacting with older adults
- Dependable and kind
- Dog owners are especially encouraged to inquire, if their pet is approved through volunteer program guidelines
