A friendly Volunteer Visit Makes a Difference-VITAS Healthcare-St. Louis, MO 63134- Daytime Fridays

Volunteers are critically important for visiting patients at the end of life that do not have family or friends that regularly visit. VITAS Healthcare is looking for Patient Care Volunteers to visit patients residing in their own homes to increase socialization, provide pampering and comfort. Volunteers offer companionship, play music and games, read to patients, share hobbies and help in other meaningful ways. They provide specific, non-medical care through friendly visits. In addition, volunteers can help with relief care, to give caregivers a small break for an hour or two.

VITAS Healthcare provides comprehensive training and orientation for hospice volunteering that focuses on communication skills and how to make a positive difference for patients and caregivers. The days and times for volunteering are flexible according to your availability. Any time you can contribute is greatly appreciated.
