Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Content to lead and scale content efforts at Translation Commons. This is a leadership role for someone who can build structure from the ground up, shape a clear narrative, and guide a distributed volunteer team. You will define how TC communicates its impact and ensure content supports key goals: awareness, engagement, volunteer growth, and fundraising.
Responsibilities
- Own and develop the content strategy across blog, email, and social media.
- Build and manage a content system (planning, workflows, templates, guidelines).
- Lead and mentor content managers and writers.
- Ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across all channels.
- Identify and shape high-impact stories from volunteers, partners, and communities.
- Align content with marketing funnel goals (traffic → engagement → action).
- Collaborate with Traffic, Design, and PR teams to amplify reach and results.
Ideal Skills
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial leadership, or communications.
- Proven ability to build and scale content systems.
- Strong storytelling skills with both emotional and data-driven content.
- Experience managing distributed or volunteer teams is a plus.
- Strategic mindset with ability to connect content to business or nonprofit goals.
- Interest in language, digital inclusion, or global impact initiatives.
Why join us
- Shape the voice of a global nonprofit at an early stage of growth.
- Work with an international team of passionate volunteers across cultures and time zones.
- Build real leadership experience in a mission-driven, high-impact environment.
- Freedom to create, test, and implement your own ideas.
- Opportunity to contribute to digital inclusion and language equity worldwide.
