    Description

Help Fair Trade Minneapolis at weekend events May 31, June 14, June 27&28, July 12, July 25&26, August 1,2,16&23, September 13,19&27, October 11,18,23,24,25, and beyond - with Fair Trade art from Haiti

Haiti needs help. Fair Trade Minneapolis brings metal wall art; bracelets, necklaces and earrings made with paper-rolled and ceramic beads; hanging birds, bees, and trees; Haiti Friends dolls, ceramic mugs, greeting cards, and head bands - made by parents getting paid fairly for their work at Papillon Marketplace in Haiti - to events in Minneapolis.

Fair Trade Minneapolis needs volunteers at 2026 events in/near Minneapolis including the Linden Hills Farmers Market (May 31, June 14, July 12, Aug 16&23, Sep. 13&27, and Oct 11&18), Twin Cities Pride (June 27-28), Loring Park Art Festival (July 25-26), Powderhorn Art Fair (Aug 1-2), Powderhorn Porchfest (Sep 19) in Minneapolis, and Roseville Spooktacular Craft & Vendor Market at Rosedale Center Oct 23-25. We're often just my mother and me, so I'm reaching out to ask for your help.

More information: My name is Karen Lunde, and I've started Fair Trade Minneapolis, a 501c3 nonprofit. We encourage people to choose Fair Trade coffee, tea, chocolate, and gifts - to pay farmers & artisans fairly, protect our environment with the Fair Trade Standards for sustainable agriculture, and ensure that cocoa for Fair Trade chocolate has been farmed by fairly-paid adults.

At events, we sell Fair Trade artisan products made in Haiti by parents at Papillon Marketplace https://papillonmarketplace.com. In Haiti, Papillon Marketplace hires parents, provides childcare, and pays the parents fairly for their work - so they'll have money to buy food for themselves and their children.

We need volunteers who can help us greet event goers (and get them to take a 2nd look at our great Haitian art!) at the Linden Hills Farmers Market (May 31, June 14, July 12, Aug 26&23, Sep 13&27, and Oct 11&18), Twin Cities Pride (June 27-28), Loring Park Art Festival (July 25-26), the Powderhorn Art Fair (Aug 1-2), and more events in and near Minneapolis.

It would be great if you could please help us in our booth at one or more of these events - for at least 3 hours. We do our best to have fun at these events! In addition to Haitian art, we also bring dozens of kinds of Fair Trade tea, and some Fair Trade chocolate - and give away "your choices" for free. Be sure to get some yourself! This meets our mission: to encourage people to choose Fair Trade!

I'll be there too - Let's have fun greeting people at these fantastic events! Thank you for your help!
