    Description

    Recruitment and Operations Lead

    Ramzunā Languages is a volunteer-led initiative that provides free English, French and German lessons to Palestinian students. We currently have 35 students and 20 teachers. We are seeking a Recruitment & Operations Lead to bridge our mission and ensure every student has a vetted, trained, and ready-to-teach teacher.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Recruit a diverse and growing pool of volunteers

    • Respond to emails and inquiries about Ramzunā Languages within 48 hours.
    • Maintain active postings on Idealist, Volunteers for Palestine, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, retiree groups, universities and religious groups. Public campaigns are also effective. Refresh them every 30 days to keep them at the top of search results.
    • Conduct proactive weekly headhunting on LinkedIn to build a strong pipeline of volunteer candidates.

    Perform volunteer screening and conduct interviews

    • Conduct screenings of applications and interviews prospective volunteers to understand their interests, organisational fit and explain Ramzunā’s mission.
    • Ensure all volunteers complete trauma-informed training before they begin teaching.
    • Complete background checks as required.
    • Create, update and maintain volunteer records in the database, including contact details, teaching preferences, availability and time zones.
    • Onboard new volunteers.

    Support and Retain Ramzunā Volunteers

      • Provide volunteers with adequate and appropriate staff support and supervision.
      • Conduct fortnightly check-ins to assess their experience and ensure everything is going well.
      • After two months, follow up with ongoing volunteers to discuss their plans and gauge their commitment.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience in recruiting, supervising and supporting volunteers is required.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds.
    • Ability to communicate Ramzunā’s mission to various audiences through writing, verbal, and visual means.
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
    • Ability to take initiative and work efficiently and accurately with a high level of attention to detail and respect for deadlines.
    • Discretion in handling confidential information
    • Energy and enthusiasm, with an average commitment of 3/4 hours a week for at least 6 months. This is a long-term role.
    • Knowledge of Arabic, French, or German is an asset.
