Description
NECHAMA - Jewish Response to Disaster is the only Jewish organization to offer sustained direct services in the US following the onset of a hurricane, tornado, flood, or other natural disaster. NECHAMA is deploying for three weeks in New Bern, North Carolina and the surrounding Craven County, where we’re helping residents rebuild their homes that have remained in disrepair for many years after Hurricane Matthew devastated the area in 2016 and Hurricane Florence in 2018. This work will focus on light reconstruction for homes impacted by the hurricane, specifically handling drywall, flooring, and trim installation, as well as priming and painting.
