“Take a Walk with Us:” Join us in Testing a Nonprofit App for Organizing Local Walks!

Acquaint is a nonprofit on a mission to strengthen human connection, and we need your help!

Do you live in or near Bellevue, Washington? Do you love the outdoors? Meeting new people? Trying new things and offering your feedback? If "Yes," then we invite you to become an Acquaint Walks Champion.

What is Acquaint Walks?

We're building an app to get neighbors and community members walking together, meeting new people, and enjoying each other's company. Humans have become increasingly disconnected. We have less trust, less meaningful connection with neighbors, less engagement with community...and it's hurting us all, whether we're directly impacted or not.

That's why we need your help creating this new, convenient way to connect with others. The app allows people to pick a local park, suggest a time, and show up. Upon arriving, walkers get paired in groups of 2-3 to encourage low-pressure conversations in small groups.

But it's not publicly released yet! The app is still in beta, and we need creative, community-minded people to help get it ready for release.

What will you do?

• Get to know our team members and fellow volunteers (we're building a community of "Walks Champions," not just recruiting "testers.")
• Download the app and use it to schedule walks (guidance to be provided)
• Go for walks in the Bellevue-area parks with fellow volunteers and Acquaint team members
• Spread the word! Help recruit friends, co-workers, or local organizations to help pilot the app as well.
• Give honest feedback about your experience - if something about the app is annoying, buggy, or confusing (which it almost certainly will be) please complain to us :)
