    Description

FTW South: Visit a Lonely Senior Citizen in need of a Friend!

We would love to have you as a Hospice Volunteer!

Become a Hero on your own terms

On your own time. In your own way. With your personality. Your ability to relate. Your own skills. Your way of solving a problem, sharing a story, helping somebody remember important moments in their lives.

You can be one of our Volunteers

When you give us the precious gift of your time and interest, we give you a chance to make a real difference in someone’s life. We train you, find you the right assignment and stand behind you as you grow.

    Patient Volunteer

Weekly visits to offer companionship for Patients. Examples include:

    o Conversation

    o Reading to the Patient

o Listening to music or watching videos of their favorite singer/actor

o Watching a TV show together

o Watching funny cat and dog reels together

    o Assisting with a hobby

    • Volunteers are matched with 1 Patient at a time to someone within a 15-minute radius to where you live.
    • You can volunteer for as little as 2 - 4 hours a month, and you can set a schedule that works for you.
    • You can learn at your own pace, and we provide ongoing support until you feel completely comfortable working on your own.

    Requirements:

    • Must be able to commit to Volunteer for one year (or 1 school year)
    • Either 1 x per week or 2 x per month for about 1 hour
    • No resume needed but an excellent skill and resume builder
