    Grant Specialist (Volunteer)

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Grant Specialist to lead our grant research, evaluation, proposal development, and submission efforts. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of identifying funding opportunities and preparing compelling grant applications, preferably within the nonprofit, education, technology, or workforce development sectors.

    This role is instrumental in helping IWIL Ignite secure funding to expand its impact across Canada.

    Key Responsibilities

    Research and identify grant opportunities from federal, provincial, municipal, corporate, and philanthropic funders.

    Evaluate funding opportunities based on organizational priorities, eligibility, and strategic fit.

    Maintain and manage a grant pipeline, including deadlines, requirements, and submission schedules.

    Write, edit, and submit high quality grant proposals and supporting documentation.

    Coordinate with internal teams to gather program information, budgets, impact metrics, and supporting materials.

    Ensure all grant applications are complete, compliant, and submitted on time.

    Monitor funding announcements and maintain relationships with funding organizations where appropriate.

    Track application outcomes and prepare post-award reports when required.

    Build and maintain a repository of organizational content, impact data, and proposal templates for future funding applications.
