    Description

    Job Title: Volunteer Chief of Programs

    Reports To: Executive Director

    Location: Remote (Africa)

    Commitment -10-15 hours per week

    Women of Color On The Move (WOCOTM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women of color and their communities through advocacy, education, and innovative programs. We are driven by a vision of equity, opportunity, and leadership for all.

    Position Overview

    The Chief of Programs (Volunteer) will provide strategic leadership and oversight for WOCOTM’s programs, ensuring their effectiveness, alignment with organizational goals, and responsiveness to community needs. This role is ideal for a passionate, mission-driven individual seeking to make a meaningful impact by leveraging their expertise in program development and management.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Strategy and Oversight

    • Lead the development and implementation of WOCOTM’s programmatic vision and strategy.
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of programs to ensure high-quality delivery and measurable impact.
    • Collaborate with program staff and volunteers to identify community needs and develop innovative solutions.

    Volunteer and Team Leadership

    • Support and mentor program staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
    • Coordinate with team members to ensure alignment across all programs and activities.
    • Provide leadership in resolving challenges and enhancing program efficiency.

    Community Engagement and Partnerships

    • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, funders, and stakeholders to enhance program reach and impact.
    • Represent WOCOTM at events, workshops, and meetings to promote the organization’s mission and programs.

    Monitoring and Reporting

    • Develop and monitor program goals, budgets, and outcomes in collaboration with the leadership team.
    • Prepare reports and updates for the Executive Director and Board of Directors on program performance and impact.

    Qualifications

    • Strong commitment to the mission and values of Women of Color On The Move.
    • Proven experience in program development, management, or a related field (nonprofit experience preferred).
    • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Familiarity with issues affecting women of color and underserved communities is highly desirable.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience with grant writing and program evaluation.
    • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
    • Knowledge of program management tools and software.
