Are you looking for a way to make a tangible difference in your community? We are looking for Volunteer Drivers to help us collect the generous food donations that keep our food pantry operating.
As the "face" of The Salvation Army on the road, you’ll be doing more than just driving a truck you’ll be the bridge between local businesses generosity and a family in need.
What You’ll Be Doing
- The Route: Navigating local grocery stores and restaurants to pick up donated food
- The Heavy Lifting: Loading and unloading the truck (it’s a great way to stay active!). You will always have a helper with you, to help with the load.
- The Connection: Interacting with restaurant and grocery store managers, providing receipts, and representing The Salvation Army with a smile.
- The Upkeep: Ensuring the vehicle is safe, clean, and ready for the road.
What We’re Looking For
- Age & Experience: Must be at least 21 years old with a minimum of three years of driving experience.
- The Paperwork: A valid driver’s license, background check, and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- The Heart: A friendly, professional attitude and a desire to serve the community.
Why Volunteer With Us?
Every item you pick up is given away through our food pantry and youth programs. When you drive for us, you aren't just moving boxes, you’re providing food for those in our community who would go hungry otherwise.
