    HELP NEEDED, Roanoke - Transport Life Saving Blood to Local Hospitals

    Volunteer Drivers Needed to Deliver Lifesaving Blood Products to Local Hospitals

    How does it feel to help save a life? This is your chance to find out! If you have a little free time, love driving, and enjoy meeting new people, the Red Cross has a great volunteer position for you.

    About This Position

    Are you a dependable, safe and courteous driver who can help us make this important delivery?

    Volunteer Transportation Specialists deliver life-saving blood products from Red Cross distribution facilities to hospitals, using a Red Cross-owned vehicle. Volunteers should be able to commit to 2-4 shifts per month, before applying (or more if you can!). Typical shifts are usually about 4 hours.

    You’ll also need to meet these important qualifications:

    Have a valid state driver's license and proof of insurance

    Have 3 years driving experience and a clean driving record

    Can lift up to 45 lbs.
