Saturday Morning Produce Pickup Volunteer

This volunteer opportunity involves some lifting and a vehicle that can transport boxes and bags of produce from the Strip District to Northview Heights where produce distribution takes place.

8 foot truck beds can carry all produce with one vehicle.

6 foot truck beds, SUV's, minivans, etc. can typically carry half of the produce and need a second vehicle to carry remainder.

You will arrive at Consumers Produce, doors 6, 7, 8, and load up the produce that is there for the Northview Heights Produce Distribution account. They will provide you with a yellow sheet of paper on what you received in the order.

Take all produce and that sheet to the volunteers at NV Heights, Health Center/Hi-rise, 525 Mt. Pleasant. Rd., Pittsburgh, PA, 15214. Provide the yellow sheet to whomever is in charge that Saturday, help unload your vehicle, and then you are done for the day.

This opportunity is so incredibly important and right now we have a lack of people to sign up to transport the produce. Without our volunteers, we can't distribute produce. Please consider helping us for an hour on a Saturday morning!
