Position Title: Media & Communications Coach (Podcast, Interviews & Public Appearances) – Volunteer
Organization: LoopRoots Foundation
Location: Remote (U.S. preferred; Phoenix-based candidates a plus)
Commitment: 20–25 hours per week
About LoopRoots Foundation:
LoopRoots Foundation is a nonprofit organization supporting justice-impacted individuals and families through programs focused on transportation, mental health, housing, legal support, and reentry services. As part of our expansion, we are launching a podcast and storytelling platform while increasing our presence across public interviews, media features, and television appearances.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Media & Communications Coach to work closely with leadership in developing a strong, authentic, and confident public voice across podcasting, on-camera interviews, and media appearances.
This role will focus on refining delivery, presence, and messaging while maintaining a natural and emotionally grounded communication style. The ideal candidate understands how to prepare individuals for real conversations—not scripted performances—especially in high-impact and public-facing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing coaching on speaking delivery, tone, and on-camera presence
- Prepare leadership for podcast hosting, guest interviews, and live conversations
- Support preparation for public interviews, media features, and TV appearances
- Help refine messaging to balance professionalism, clarity, and authenticity
- Review recorded content and provide constructive feedback
- Assist in developing key talking points for different audiences (community, media, partners, donors)
- Build confidence in unscripted, real-time communication settings
- Ensure consistency in voice across all public-facing platforms
Qualifications:
- Experience in media coaching, communications, broadcasting, journalism, or public speaking
- Strong understanding of storytelling and conversational communication
- Experience preparing individuals for interviews or public appearances
- Ability to provide clear, supportive, and actionable feedback
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience working with founders, nonprofit leaders, or public-facing professionals
- Background in podcasting, media production, or television
- Familiarity with trauma-informed or human-centered communication
