Community Partnership Ambassador

Help create more places for conversation and connection across Eugene.

Imagine going through an entire day without speaking to another person. No friendly hello. No one asking how you are. No conversation at all.

For too many people, that can be everyday life.

Chatty Cafe USA helps create simple opportunities for people to connect in the places they already visit — cafes, libraries, bookstores, community centers and other welcoming local spaces.

Because sometimes, one conversation can make all the difference.

We are looking for Community Partnership Ambassadors to help bring more Chatty Tables to communities across Eugene.

A Chatty Table is a designated welcoming table where people can sit down, meet someone new and have a conversation. There is no need to book, no pressure and no expectation — just an opportunity for human connection.

As a Community Partnership Ambassador, you will introduce the initiative and help identify venues interested in offering a Chatty Table.

What you'll do

• Identify cafes, libraries, bookstores, community centers and other welcoming local venues
• Reach out to potential community partners by email, phone, social media or in person
• Introduce the Chatty Table initiative

You are someone who...

• Enjoys meeting people and starting conversations
• Is comfortable approaching local businesses and organizations
• Knows the Eugene community or would enjoy getting to know it better
• Has connections with cafes, libraries, nonprofits or community organizations — a bonus, but not required
• Believes loneliness and social isolation are important community issues

Time commitment

Flexible: approximately 1–2 hours per week.

Much of the outreach can be completed around your own schedule.
