    Description

    FLOW Program

Interested in ocean science and microbiology? Become a community scientist with the Amigos de Bolsa Chica's FLOW Program! (Follow and Learn about the Oceans and Wetlands)

No prior experience necessary! Volunteers perform weekly water sampling at Bolsa Chica State Beach, followed by microscopy and chemical analyses. The results are tabulated and a small sample is sent to the California Department of Public Health every week. We also host field trips to educate the next generation about the importance of water quality.
