Are you passionate about mental health awareness and fluent in Spanish and English? Do you believe everyone, regardless of their native language, deserves access to high-quality, reliable mental health information? If so, we are looking for a dedicated and idealistic volunteer to join our mission!
We are seeking a Volunteer Translator to help us break down language barriers and make vital mental health articles accessible to the global Spanish-speaking community. Your work will directly impact individuals seeking knowledge, support, and understanding of mental well-being.
What You Will Be Doing
- Translation: Accurately translating existing mental health articles (covering topics like anxiety, depression, coping strategies, mindfulness, etc.) from English into clear, culturally sensitive, and engaging Spanish.
- Review: Ensuring the translated content maintains the original article's tone, scientific accuracy, and intent.
- Cultural Adaptation: Making minor adjustments where necessary to ensure the content resonates appropriately with diverse Spanish-speaking audiences.
Who we are looking for?
- Bilingual Proficiency: Near-native or native fluency in Spanish and English (both reading and writing is essential).
- Empathy & Passion: A genuine passion for mental health advocacy and a belief in the power of accessible information to change lives.
- Dedication: Reliable and committed to delivering high-quality, grammatically correct translations in a timely manner.
- Independence: Ability to work independently, manage your own time, and adhere to content guidelines.
- Experience (A Plus, but not required): Previous experience in translation, especially in medical, psychological, or non-profit fields, is beneficial.
