    Description

Reporting to the PR & Social Media Director, the Social Media Manager owns FAR's presence on every platform where our audience already lives. You'll set the content calendar and platform strategy, guide the Social Media Specialist cohort on what to post and why, and work with the Community Manager cohort to make sure conversation on our channels stays safe, warm, and on brand. You'll also be the one watching what's working, what isn't, and where FAR needs to show up next.

    What you'll do:

    • Set FAR's social media strategy and maintain the content calendar across platforms
    • Direct and support the Social Media Specialist cohort on day-to-day content
    • Oversee the Community Manager cohort's moderation and engagement work
    • Coordinate with the Creative Lead and Graphic Design Specialists on visual content
    • Track platform performance and adjust strategy based on what the data shows
    • Flag emerging platform risks, trends, or crisis moments to the PR & Communications Director

You might be a good fit if you have:

    • Experience managing social media strategy for an organization, brand, or cause
    • A track record leading or coordinating a content team
    • Strong platform fluency and a sharp read on how each one behaves
    • Sound judgment about tone in sensitive or high-stakes moments
    • Clear writing and speaking
    • Familiarity with LGBTQ+, asylum, or human rights communications (a bonus)
    • Additional languages, Spanish especially (a plus)

    Inclusion Statement

At FAR we strongly encourage applications from trans, queer, and BIPOC individuals, people with lived experience of displacement or asylum, and people from communities most affected by the conditions this organization exists to address. We welcome applicants regardless of immigration status, and we will treat every application with discretion and care.

FAR does not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, disability, age, religion, or any other characteristic unrelated to a candidate's ability to do the work. If you need an accommodation at any stage of the process, let us know and we will work with you.
