About Wellness Loudoun:
Wellness Loudoun is an Ashburn-based nonprofit wellness center dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming community for mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. We offer free and low-cost classes, support groups, and wellness events that help people connect, heal, and thrive.
Position Summary:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, creative Marketing & Communications Volunteer to support our growing organization. This volunteer will play a key role in keeping our community informed and engaged by managing event postings on our website and creating social media content to promote them. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or emerging professional looking to gain real-world experience in digital marketing, nonprofit communications, and community engagement. Could also be a great opportunity for a recent retiree to give back.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post upcoming classes, webinars, and events on the Wellness Loudoun website using our content management system.
- Create visually appealing and brand-aligned social media graphics and captions for Facebook and Instagram to promote events.
- Maintain an organized content calendar to ensure timely and consistent promotion.
- Assist in writing and editing event descriptions, newsletters, and blog posts as needed.
- Track engagement and assist in gathering basic analytics to measure outreach success.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and program team to ensure all promotions reflect Wellness Loudoun’s voice and mission.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Experience with Canva, social media platforms a MUST, and basic graphic design preferred.
- Organized, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines.
- Interest in wellness, mental health, and community engagement a plus.
