Seeking Bereavement Phone Support Volunteer

Horizon Home Care & Hospice is seeking a few volunteers to assist with making phone calls to the bereaved family members and loved ones, of our hospice patients who have passed. This opportunity would be at our Grief Resource Center in Milwaukee,

Understandably, this is a very sensitive area, and we would want someone who is compassionate and patient, with a gentle demeanor, who is skilled at relaying these qualities over the phone. Our ideal volunteer would also have a history in social work, counseling, psychology, or therapy, and would also be computer proficient.

All volunteers will be required to have completed their Covid vaccine series prior to their start date.

To ensure your safety, and the safety of our patients and staff, Horizon follows all CDC guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Wearing a mask/face covering
• Maintaining social distancing of 6 feet or more
• Self-quarantining if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms (fever, chills, cough or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea)
• Washing hands and/or sanitizing often
• Disinfecting work areas before and after use

Horizon will provide all necessary protective equipment and supplies to ensure that all safe practices can be followed.

2 shifts available:

• Shifts are scheduled (2, 3 or 4 hours) Mon-Fri, once a week: 09:00 to 11:00 CST
• Shifts are scheduled (2, 3 or 4 hours) Mon-Fri, once a week: 12:00 to 16:00 CST
