    Description

    Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator

    HomesFirst.org | Lacey, WA | Volunteer Position

Make Home Possible — For Everyone

What does it mean to truly belong somewhere? At Homes First, we believe everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home. We're looking for a passionate, people-driven volunteer to help us grow and energize the team of dedicated individuals who make our work possible.

As our Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator, you won't just be filling slots on a spreadsheet — you'll be building a community. You'll be the reason someone discovers their capacity to change a life, including their own.

    What You'll Do:

You'll lead the charge on finding, welcoming, and retaining the volunteers who are the heartbeat of Homes First. That means crafting outreach that inspires action, hosting orientations that make new volunteers feel immediately at home, and building the systems that keep our team organized, motivated, and coming back.

You'll partner closely with tight-knit Homes First staff to understand where volunteers are needed most, then match the right individuals and groups to the right roles — creating experiences that are meaningful for volunteers and transformative for the individuals and families we serve.

You'll Thrive in This Role If You...

    • Light up when connecting with people and hearing their stories
    • Are a natural organizer who loves turning chaos into clarity
    • Communicate warmly and clearly — in person, over email, and everywhere in between
    • Believe that ending housing instability is not just possible, but urgent
    • Have experience in volunteer coordination, community organizing, HR, or a related field (helpful, but not required — we'll train the right person)

    The Impact

HomesFirst's volunteers contribute thousands of hours each year — tutoring residents, stocking food pantries, leading workshops, and offering the kind of consistent human connection that reminds people they matter. When you build this team, you multiply that impact exponentially. You're not just managing volunteers. You're building an army of compassion.

    Time Commitment

Approximately 8–10 hours per week, with flexibility to work remotely and on your own schedule. Some in-person presence at our office is encouraged and deeply appreciated.

    Ready to Lead With Purpose?

If you've been looking for a way to give your time that genuinely moves the needle on one of our city's most pressing challenges, this is it. Join us — and help make home possible for everyone.
