    Description

    The Contract Director Intern participates in a structured, hands-on learning experience focused on macro-level contract management, operational governance, and departmental policy architecture. This role provides exposure to systemic risk mitigation, negotiation strategies, and leadership structures within an organization's legal operations framework, all within a supervised and guided environment. Participants may engage at different levels within this role based on the program’s tiered structure (Foundational, Intermediate, Advanced), depending on prior experience, engagement, and program needs.

    Learning Focus Areas

    Participants in this role will gain exposure to:

    • Departmental strategy, leadership pipelines, and legal workflow optimization
    • Advanced risk assessment, indemnity structures, and liability frameworks
    • Design and deployment of organization-wide compliance protocols
    • Auditing methods used to measure agreement accuracy and lifecycle speed

    Program Activities

    Participants may engage in:

    • Supporting the development of high-level compliance policies and contract governance models
    • Assisting with the guidance, support, and peer review workflows of junior contract interns
    • Participating in executive briefing modules regarding organizational legal strategies
    • Collaborating with team members on structured tasks
    • Communicating questions, observations, or feedback to program leadership

    Note: All activities are conducted within a supervised and guided learning environment.

    Qualifications

    Education / Background

    Candidates may include:

    • Law students (JD candidates), MBA candidates, or students in advanced legal studies programs
    • Recent graduates holding advanced business or legal degrees looking for leadership experience
    • Early-career professionals aiming for high-level management tracks in operations or procurement
    • Individuals seeking to gain experience in a new functional area
