    Description

    Youth Mentor & Program Assistant

    AUTH Mentorship is a nonprofit supporting girls ages 12–18 through confidence building, leadership, life skills, and real-world exposure.

    Role Overview

    We’re looking for a consistent, reliable volunteer to support weekly mentorship sessions, help guide girls, and assist with program activities.

    What You’ll Do

    • Assist during weekly mentorship sessions (in-person)
    • Build positive, respectful relationships with teen girls
    • Support workshops (confidence, communication, leadership, etc.)
    • Help with event setup, group activities, and outings
    • Be a consistent, present adult figure the girls can rely on

    Role Structure & Placement

    This is a combined role. Volunteers will be placed based on strengths and program needs:

    • Some volunteers will primarily serve as Youth Mentors, working directly with the girls during sessions
    • Some will serve as Program Assistants, supporting with logistics, setup, communication, and coordination
    • Some may support in both areas as needed

    What We’re Looking For

    • Strong communication and patience
    • Comfortable working with teens
    • Reliable and consistent (this matters more than anything)
    • Positive energy, leadership mindset
    • Background in education, youth work, or community work is a plus (not required)

    Commitment

    • 1–2 days per week (a few hours per session)
    • In-person (Greater Hartford area)

    Growth Opportunity

    This is a volunteer role with potential for paid contract opportunities as the organization grows.

    Additional Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • Must have reliable transportation
    • Must be willing to assist with transporting participants when needed
    • Comfortable traveling locally for program activities, events, and outings
    • Clean driving record preferred

    We are looking for individuals who are consistent, reliable, and genuinely interested in working with teen girls in a mentorship setting. This is not a one-time opportunity — we are building a strong, supportive environment and need volunteers who can commit and show up.

    Before applying, please make sure you:

    • Are available for weekly in-person sessions (weekends some weekdays)
    • Are open to supporting communication and coordination during the week
    • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
    • Are comfortable being a positive, consistent presence for youth
