    Description

    Volunteer VITA Tax Site Coordinator

Circle of Care St. Louis is seeking an organized and dependable Volunteer VITA Tax Site Coordinator to help lead the day-to-day operation of our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site during tax season.

Our VITA program is part of our Community Wellness work and helps eligible individuals and families access free, reliable tax preparation and strengthen their financial well-being.

    What You'll Do

Coordinate the flow of the VITA site during scheduled tax-preparation sessions, support volunteers, help manage taxpayer intake and appointments, ensure required VITA procedures are followed, maintain taxpayer privacy and confidentiality, and communicate site needs to Circle of Care leadership.

Responsibilities include volunteer coordination, site workflow, taxpayer intake, required documentation, quality-review procedures, and helping create an organized and welcoming experience for taxpayers.

    Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable leading volunteers, and able to communicate effectively with people from different backgrounds. Experience with VITA, tax preparation, accounting, financial services, volunteer coordination, or community programs is helpful.

Required IRS/VITA training and certification must be completed for responsibilities that require certification.

    Time Commitment

This is a seasonal volunteer leadership opportunity connected to the tax-filing season. The coordinator should be available for required training and preparation before the site opens and during scheduled VITA service sessions.

    Why This Matters

Free tax preparation can help individuals and families access the refunds and tax benefits for which they qualify while avoiding unnecessary preparation costs. As Site Coordinator, you'll help Circle of Care provide a trusted, welcoming tax resource in the community.
