Thrift Store Cashier/Sorter/Merchandiser

We also need backroom sorters and pricers, along with merchandisers that display and fluff our store!

• Receive and sort incoming donations, separating items into appropriate categories (clothing, housewares, books, décor, electronics, pet items, etc.).
• Evaluate the condition of donated items, identifying what is sellable, recyclable, or needs to be discarded based on Marketplace guidelines.
• Clean or lightly prepare items as needed (wiping surfaces, removing dust, checking for missing pieces).
• Test basic functionality of small household items or electronics when appropriate.
• Price items accurately using established pricing guidelines to ensure consistency and fairness.
• Tag and label merchandise clearly so items are ready for the sales floor.
• Organize sorted items in designated backroom areas to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Identify specialty or high-value items and set them aside for staff review.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, including sweeping, wiping surfaces, and managing donation bins.
• Follow safety protocols when lifting, moving, or handling donations.
• Communicate with staff and fellow volunteers about unusual items, concerns, or items needing additional evaluation.
• Support the sales floor team by preparing merchandise quickly and efficiently for display.

We are open 7 Days a week 10am-5pm with morning and afternoon shifts.

2 shifts available:

• 10:00 to 2:00 PST
• 1:30 to 5:30 PST
