🌎 Want to use your medical skills to support community-led healthcare?

Concern America is looking for a Medical Volunteer to work alongside health promoter practitioners in Petén, Guatemala.

For more than 50 years, Concern America has partnered with low-income communities around the world to address poverty through training, education, and skills transfer. We focus on building local capacity and sustainable systems that communities can maintain long after a program ends.

Since 1972, Concern America has worked in 15 countries across four continents, supporting the health and well-being of more than two million people.

What you’ll do

🔹 Train and mentor health promoter practitioners and midwives using Concern America’s curriculum

🔹 Work alongside local health promoter practitioners in the teaching clinic and in community visits

🔹 Adapt and help develop popular heath health education materials

🔹 Collaborate with program leadership and contribute quarterly reports

🔹 Support program coordination

Who we’re looking for

✔ Medical Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants

✔ Experience in public health or community health

✔ Background in teaching, training, or popular education

✔ Fluent Spanish and appreciation for cultural diversity

✔ Strong teamwork, organization, and adaptability

✔ Willingness to live and work in rural or challenging conditions

📍 Location: Petén, Guatemala

📅 Start date: Flexible

⏳ Commitment: 2 years (renewable)

Volunteers may also have opportunities to support Concern America’s health programs in Colombia, San Miguel de Allende (Mexico), and Chiapas (Mexico).
