Meet-up Location: Brooklyn Public Library - 10 Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn, NY
Arrival Time: 8:00 AM
Date: Thursday, June 19, 2026
Volunteer Time: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Flexible shifts available)
Opportunity Description:
We are organizing volunteers in support of Council Member Farah N. Louis, whose office is proudly leading the Annual Juneteenth Celebration. This powerful day of unity and culture draws over 600 community members and features musical performances, special guest appearances from elected officials, and a meaningful celebration of freedom and heritage.
Volunteer Roles Available:
You may choose to support Set-Up (8:00 AM) and/or Breakdown (4:30 PM). Volunteers are needed from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM for roles including:
- Registration
- T-Shirt Distribution
- Vendor Check-In
- Crowd Control
- ID Badge Distribution
- Performer Support
Perks for Volunteers:
- Free event t-shirt (please provide your size in advance)
- Refreshments
- Access to restrooms
- Community service hours (if applicable)
- A chance to give back and be part of something inspiring
Dress Code:
Please dress comfortably and appropriately for outdoor activity.
