Birding Guide

On the first Saturday of each month from 9:45 to 12:15, Bonnet Springs Park has Birding on the Boardwalk. Volunteers are placed along the boardwalk to greet guests, distribute and collect binoculars and birding guides, and help guests discover and identify birds and other wildlife.
Expected attire is family friendly. A Bonnet Springs volunteer shirt will be given to help guests identify you in the park. For outdoor assignments it is recommended that volunteers should bring something to stay hydrated, have head and eyewear protection, and wear sunscreen.
Docent

Bonnet Springs Park is seeking History Gallery Docents to interact with guests about the exhibits in the History Gallery, Nature Center, or Butterfly House. Volunteers will enhance guests' knowledge by offering interesting facts and information beyond what the exhibit cards say. Shifts are available throughout the week from 10-12, 12-2, and 2:30 to 4:30.

Field Trip Guide

Bonnet Springs Park needs field trip guides to lead classroom students and teachers through STEM and nature activities. Visiting grades are 4th - 12th. Assistance will also be needed to organize and setup prior to the field trip and to clean and put back supplies after use. Field trips are scheduled on various days Monday to Friday from 9am to 12:30pm.

General Events Staff

Bonnet Springs Park is in need of volunteers to assist with scheduled events. Volunteers can help through greeting, tending to craft tables, running activity stations, conducting surveys, handing out giveaways, keeping lines in order, and much more!

Gift Shop Attendant

Bonnet Springs Park is looking for someone to greet guests with a smile, answer park related questions, utilize a point of sale system for monetary transactions, and use their optimal customer service skills in the gift shop.

Greeter

Bonnet Springs Park of Lakeland is looking for volunteers to greet guests and welcome them while they navigate the park. Volunteers will answer questions, give directions to attractions and facilities, help keep walkways and attraction areas clean and clear of hazards, enforce park rules as needed, encourage exploration of the park, and ensure the guests have a positive experience. Volunteers will be designated to areas throughout the park. Shifts are available from 10-12, 12-2, and 2:30 to 4:30.

Programs Helper

Bonnet Springs Park is looking for volunteers passionate about nature and growing young minds! Volunteers are needed to assist with various recurring programs including Evening Explorers, Sensory Friendly Stations, Adventure Days, and Exploration Stations. These events involve STEM or nature-based programming. Volunteers will help to prepare for and clean up after events and help attendees through the activities.

STEM Saturday Attendant

On the 4th Saturday of each month Bonnet Springs Park hosts STEM Saturday. They are looking for STEM enthusiastic volunteers from 9:45 to 12:15 to encourage and lead children through a predetermined activity. Each event presents a new STEM topic and activity. The ideal volunteer for this opportunity is one that enjoys being a part of growing minds, can speak loud enough to be heard by many people in a large area, and is familiar with STEM concepts.

Weed Warrior
This is a volunteer opportunity, not a paid position.

Bonnet Springs Park is seeking volunteers to become Weed Warriors. Weed Warriors help to keep Bonnet Springs Park's land healthy and beautiful through the removal of weeds. The Weed Warriors meet a few times a month in the morning and a group training is provided to help identify common weeds to remove.
