    Description

    Stop the Authoritarian Takeover—STAT!

Millions are protesting in the streets, hundreds of lawsuits have been filed, thousands are calling their representatives in Congress every day.

But where are our state and local legislators? State and local governments have real power, and every state and local representative has taken an oath to uphold the Constitution. We need them to step up. Now!

Help Democratism activate state and local legislators to defend democracy and restore the rule of law. Learn more and explore our growing Catalog of Legislative Actions at democratism.org/STAT

    Get involved!

As a STAT Coalition-Builder, you will lead outreach to local organizations to grow support for our proposed Restore the Constitution Act and other legislation, building alliances to compel state and local governments to resist authoritarianism and restore constitutional governance.

    You will:

    • Receive guidance and support as you help shape and carry out a plan for coalition-based organizing.
    • Engage with existing organizations to secure support, partnerships, and endorsements.
    • Build alliances with local groups (e.g., around labor, reproductive rights, climate, racial equity, immigrants’ rights, LGBTQ+, and democracy).
    • Share tailored materials that support collaboration.
    • Present on the STAT Resolution and strategy, communicating its urgency and relevance to local allies
    • Develop strategies for local organizing and movement building
    • Participate in team meetings
    • Stay in communication with the national team and share updates across the network.

People of all backgrounds and identities are strongly encouraged to apply.
