Programs Director Board Member

The Friends of San Pedro Valley Park is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization (a 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation) founded in 1983 that is funded 100% by membership dues, donations and sales proceeds. The Board of Directors oversees and manages the funding, scheduling, and strategy for the events and support activities provided for the benefit of park visitors by the volunteers and members of the Friends of San Pedro Valley Park organization. Board member duties include:

• Designs, plans and hosts monthly educational programs for SPVP members and general public that align with the organization’s mission and goals
• Oversees the execution of in-person and online (webinar) programs, ensuring they are carried out effectively and efficiently
• Develops and manages program budgets
• Oversees administrative aspects of programs to meet the objectives of the organization
• Works with members and other stakeholders to identify necessary programs and services
• Analyzes data to determine the effectiveness of programs
• Forwards event descriptions, biographies and photos to Newsletter Editor, for promoting programs in newsletter and to Website Director as well as to Promotion/Outreach Director for distribution via flyers and posting on social media sites
