Join the Studio East Board of Directors

Help Shape the Future of Youth Performing Arts on the Eastside

Studio East is seeking passionate, community‑minded leaders to join our Board of Directors. For more than 30 years, Studio East has been nurturing creativity, confidence, and compassion in young people through high‑quality theater education and performance opportunities. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for individuals who want to make a meaningful impact on youth arts education.

    About the Role

Studio East board members play a vital part in guiding the strategic direction, governance, and long‑term sustainability of the organization. Board service is a rewarding volunteer opportunity for individuals who care deeply about youth development, the performing arts, and community access to arts education.

    Key Responsibilities

    Board members will:

      • Support Studio East’s mission by serving as advocates, ambassadors, and community connectors.
      • Participate in strategic planning, organizational oversight, and governance activities.
      • Attend regular board meetings monthly and serve on at least one committee.
      • Contribute to fundraising efforts through personal giving, outreach, and community engagement.
      • Offer expertise in areas such as nonprofit management, theater/arts, finance, law, HR, marketing, DEI, or community partnerships. Passion, interpersonal skills, and commitment to the mission are essential qualities for effective nonprofit board service.

    Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals who:

      • Are passionate about youth development and the performing arts.
      • Are committed to supporting a vibrant, inclusive, and creative community.
      • Bring professional skills or lived experience that complement our existing board—especially in fundraising, finance, marketing, law, technology, DEI, or education.
      • Are enthusiastic about helping Studio East grow and thrive.

Board members with strong community networks or relevant professional expertise can bring significant value to nonprofit governance. We strongly encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences to apply.

Why Serve on the Studio East Board?

      • Be part of a mission‑driven organization that transforms the lives of young people.
      • Work alongside a dedicated team of arts, education, and community leaders.
      • Help shape the next chapter of Studio East’s growth.
      • Make a lasting impact on future generations of performers, creators, and leaders.

    Time Commitment

      • Board Meetings: Monthly (approx. 2 hours)
      • Committee Work: Monthly or as needed
      • Term Length: 3 years (with option to renew)
      • Estimated Time: ~5–10 hours per month
