    Position Title: Member of the Advisory Board

    Organization: Rooted Interiors, Inc

    Location: New Bern, NC

    Type: Volunteer, Part-time

    Duration: 2 years

    About Us:

    Rooted Interiors' mission is to provide complete interiors to those emerging from homelessness. We custom design and fully furnish havens where families can plant roots and thrive. Our Advisory Board plays a crucial role in advising the organization towards achieving its mission.

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Advisory Board. As a Board member, you will provide leadership and strategic direction to ensure the organization achieves its mission and objectives. This is an unpaid volunteer position, but it offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization and the community we serve.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic plan.
    • Fundraising and Resource Development: Assist in securing adequate resources for the organization’s operations.
    • Financial Oversight: Review and approve annual budgets, financial statements, and ensure fiscal responsibility.
    • Advocacy: Act as an ambassador for the organization, promoting its mission and values to the broader community.
    • Program Oversight: Monitor and evaluate the organization’s programs and services to ensure alignment with the mission.
    • Meetings: Attend and actively participate in monthly board meetings and committee meetings as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Commitment: Strong commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
    • Leadership: Proven leadership experience in a similar role or industry.
    • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and contribute to the development of long-term plans.
    • Financial Acumen: Basic understanding of financial statements and budgets.
    • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other board members and staff.
    • Experience: Previous board experience is a plus, but not required.
