    Description

    Wellness Program Coordinator/Facilitator

    Safe Haven Space

    Northern Virginia preferred | DMV welcome | Virtual-first | ~5–10 hrs/week | 6-month commitment

Safe Haven Space supports newcomer and immigrant youth and families through culturally responsive wellness, connection, and education programs. We’re a small, growing nonprofit building practical, trauma-informed programming that helps families feel safe, supported, and connected.

We’re looking for a volunteer with a background in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field to help design and facilitate groups and workshops. This is a hands-on, “builder” role for someone who wants to create programs from the ground up and make a direct impact.

    What you’ll do

    • Co-design and pilot wellness groups and workshops
    • Facilitate virtual sessions and occasional in-person events
    • Apply trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices
    • Help track participation and outcomes for grants and learning
    • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to strengthen programs

    Good fit if you

    • Have training or experience in social work, psychology, counseling, or behavioral health
    • Enjoy facilitating small groups
    • Care about immigrant and newcomer communities
    • Like flexible, startup-style environments where you can shape the work
    • Are based in Northern Virginia (preferred) or the DMV area

This is not a therapy role. Programming focuses on wellness, skills-building, and group support.

    What you’ll gain

    • Meaningful leadership experience
    • Direct community impact
    • Program design and facilitation experience
    • Letter of recommendation
