About the opportunity
Do you enjoy helping others reach their goals? Are you good at test prep? We are looking for volunteers to help adult students in our GED Boot Camp this summer studying for their GED exams. Your support can make a difference, and no teaching experience is necessary! Training will be provided before the camp begins.
Position details
Title: Volunteer GED Tutor
Dates: July 27 – August 20, 2026
Days: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday
Hours: 12pm – 5pm
Time commitment: 8 – 12 hours per week, 4 weeks
Location: St. Suzanne Cody Rouge Community Resource Center
Format: In person, one-on-one tutoring
What you'll do
- Work one-on-one with adult students preparing for the GED exam
- Support students across all GED subjects: Math, Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA), Science, and Social Studies
- Help students stay on track and build confidence
- Collaborate with program staff to help students pass the exam
What we're looking for
- GED or High School Diploma required, some college experience preferred
- Patient, encouraging, and reliable
- Able to commit to 2-3 scheduled days per week for the full 4 weeks
- Comfortable working with adult students in a supportive environment
Training
All volunteers will receive training before the camp begins.
