Thank you for your interest in supporting Glow Cultural Center’s annual Love & Unity in May in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month! Your participation helps us build unity, healing, and empowerment for the immigrant community in Flushing.

This year’s program includes two major components:

• Resource Fair (morning–afternoon) — providing accessible, essential resources for the local immigrant community in Flushing and a documentary screening focused on anti-asian hate.
• Love & Unity Concert (afternoon–evening) — a healing and culture-rich performance spotlighting Asian American heritage and the power of music. (Learn more at https://luma.com/258bli4v)

⏰ Time Commitment

Mandatory Training: April 29 (Wed) • 5:00–7:00 PM

• Event Date: May 2 (Sat), 2026 Volunteers may choose sessions below

Session 1: Resource Fair Volunteer

Time: 10 AM – 2:30 PM

Volunteers Needed: 5

Main Duties:

1. Assist with street setup, including tents for vendors (some lifting required).
2. Move tables, chairs, and assist in ballroom setup for documentary screening.
3. Distribute community needs surveys (Mandarin preferred but not required).
4. Support tabling organizations (check supplies, distribute water, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Multilingual (Mandarin preferred).
2. Comfortable lifting moderately heavy items.
3. Friendly and willing to interact with community members.

Session 2: Concert Volunteer

Time: 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Volunteers Needed: 5

Main Duties:

1. Assist with venue setup and cleanup.
2. Stage-hand support (moving instruments) — one volunteer will be assigned this role.
3. Distribute audience feedback surveys.
4. Support VIP reception (snacks & drinks).
5. Ushering & door management (check-in and guiding guests to seats).

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience in stage management or ushering (especially for stage-hand role).
2. Comfortable guiding guests and managing flow.
3. Reliable, organized, and people-oriented.
