Human Health Project – Children’s Health Literacy Program

The Human Health Project is developing a comprehensive Children’s Health Literacy Program that supports young people ages 0–25 in understanding mental health, healthcare navigation, and diet & nutrition. We are seeking talented and passionate Education Materials Writers (Volunteer) to help create engaging, age-appropriate content that empowers children, teens, and young adults to build healthy habits and confidently navigate their well-being.

As part of our team, you will help craft educational materials tailored to three key age groups: early childhood (0–5), where children are developing emotional vocabulary and foundational health habits; school-age youth and adolescents (6–17), who face growing mental health challenges, chronic conditions, and communication needs; and young adults (18–25), who are learning to manage independent healthcare decisions, stress, and nutrition. Your writing will help make these topics accessible, relatable, and impactful.

    What You’ll Do:

Write clear, engaging educational materials such as lesson plans, activity sheets, story-based content, and youth-friendly guides

Tailor content to the developmental and literacy levels of each age group

Translate health concepts into simple, accurate, and empowering language

Collaborate with educators, health professionals, and creatives (designers, animators, etc.)

Help shape a cohesive voice and tone across the program’s resources

              What We’re Looking For:

Experience in education, child development, health writing, curriculum design, or related fields

Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas

Creativity and sensitivity to the needs of diverse youth populations

Passion for improving children’s health, education, and health equity

This is an exciting opportunity to use your writing skills to help improve health literacy for children and young adults around the world.

Join us in building healthier futures. Apply today to volunteer as an Education Materials Writer with the Human Health Project!
