Time Commitment: Approximately 3 hours per week (consistent)

Location: Primarily Remote, with occasional in-person support as needed

    About Northview Heights Produce Distribution

Northview Heights Produce Distribution is neighbors helping neighbors. We work together to make sure fresh produce reaches families in our community with dignity and care. Our work runs on volunteer energy, generosity, and shared commitment.

    The Role

We’re looking for a Volunteer Coordinator who believes that strong relationships are at the heart of strong community work. This role is about keeping our volunteer network connected, appreciated, informed, and growing.

The Volunteer Coordinator will help ensure we have the right people, at the right time, to make each distribution successful — while also making sure every volunteer feels seen and valued.

    What You’ll Do

    Stay Connected to Our Volunteers

    • Reach out regularly to volunteers to confirm availability and share upcoming opportunities
    • Send thank-you messages and help cultivate a culture of appreciation
    • Maintain and organize volunteer email lists
    • Help volunteers feel informed, welcomed, and connected to the mission

    Share the Need

    • Prepare and post social media updates about volunteer opportunities and urgent needs
    • Draft clear, friendly email communications about upcoming distributions
    • Help tell the story of why volunteers matter

    Fill the Gaps

    • Proactively identify areas where volunteer coverage is thin
    • Think ahead about future needs and recruitment
    • Take initiative to recruit new volunteers when gaps arise

    Grow the Volunteer Community

    • Cultivate new relationships with individuals and community partners
    • Welcome new volunteers and help them understand their role
    • Strengthen connections so volunteers return and stay engaged

    Who You Are

    • Self-motivated and dependable
    • Warm, organized, and a strong communicator
    • Comfortable with email platforms and social media
    • Able to notice when something needs attention and take action
    • Passionate about community-driven food access

    Time Commitment

This role requires approximately 3 hours per week on a consistent basis. Most work can be done remotely, with occasional in-person presence during distributions or special volunteer efforts as needed.

    Why This Role Matters

Our produce distributions depend on people showing up — and feeling good about showing up again. The Volunteer Coordinator plays a key role in building that consistency, energy, and sense of belonging. When volunteers feel connected and appreciated, our entire community benefits.
